OTN scalability through FSP 3000 OpenFabric™
Moving to coherent-only transmission at 100Gbit/s or above delivers significant benefits. However, the majority of services in the metro are still 10Gbit/s and below. With our FSP 3000 OpenFabric™ technology for OTN grooming and switching, network operators can easily aggregate lower speed services onto high-speed wavelengths without capacity lock-in. That means fewer valuable wavelengths are consumed, enabling networks to scale for a longer period of time without running into wavelength blocking scenarios.

Compliant with the ITU-T G.709 standard, our FSP 3000 terminals can interface with any third-party OTN interface.
Precision sync transport with ADVA TrueTime™
Besides standard OTN features, our FSP 3000 also supports our advanced TrueTime™ technology, which enables the transport of highly sensitive timing information over OTN-based infrastructure. Conventional methods for transporting PTP over OTN and WDM networks cause major delay asymmetries. This significantly reduces time accuracy, which can lead to critical issues for new technologies such as LTE Advanced and 5G. ADVA TrueTime™ automatically compensates delay asymmetries, delivering the precise synchronization needed for 5G networks.
