Helmut Griesser talks post-quantum cryptography and standardization at ECOC
Session in quantum communications symposium will provide an update on NIST standardization work and explore the need for crypto-agility
- Speaker: Helmut Griesser, director, advanced technology, ADVA
- Topics: Post-quantum cryptography and standardization efforts
- When: Wednesday, September 21, 2 p.m. CEST
- Where: NGO ECOC Exhibition 2022, Messe Basel, Basel, Switzerland: https://www.ecocexhibition.com/register/
The introduction of large-scale quantum computers will render almost all currently used key-exchange protocols obsolete. For future optical fiber networks, post-quantum cryptography (PQC) is set to be a fundamental building block. In many cases, it will be combined with quantum key distribution (QKD) for enhanced protection.
In this session, Helmut Griesser will give a short introduction to the topic of PQC and an update on NIST standardization efforts. He will look at recent hits on NIST candidates and explore the concept of crypto-agility. Register now for the event beginning September 18.
