ADVA Optical Networking Presentation Outlines Optimum OLS Disaggregation Strategy
Paul Morkel Will Explain How to Maximize Reach, Performance and Fiber Capacity at Lightwave's Open Optical Conference
- Speaker: Paul Morkel, senior director, product line management, ADVA Optical Networking
- Topics: Controlling the OLS – Enabling Disaggregation Without Degradation
- When: Thursday, November 2, 3:45 p.m.
- Where: Open Optical Conference (Powered by Lightwave), Sheraton Hotel, Dallas, Texas, USA
Fully or partially disaggregated Open Line Systems (OLSs) offer multi-vendor interworking at the photonic layer, enhancing supply chain flexibility for operators. Multiple analog components of the OLS, including amplifiers and WSS ROADMs, are controlled together in a way to maximize reach, performance and fiber capacity.
How then should control approaches evolve as we progress to higher levels of disaggregation of the OLS? In this presentation, Paul Morkel will outline optimum strategies for disaggregation of OLSs using the most advanced technologies.
