Moving to the cloud has many benefits such as the agility to provision new and better services in an instant. But the tradeoff is the increased exposure of sensitive data to outside sources. Creating a secure network for data in flight presents many challenges. Multi-layered protection is necessary to address the many threats posed by data crossing untrusted networks. Yet, using traditional encryption techniques generally takes up 40% of the available bandwidth, while adding significant delays in the data flow. 

Securing data as it moves between facilities is one of the most critical issues facing companies today. In this presentation, Bill Balmer will discuss strategies, including layered encryption, to reduce risk and ensure applications and information are safe as they move into the cloud.
