ADVA Ensemble Connector Wins NFV Innovation of the Year Award at 5G World MENA

ADVA Optical Networking Pure-Play Technology Applauded for Openness, Simplicity and Vision

ADVA Optical Networking today announced that its Ensemble Connector has won the NFV Innovation of the Year Award at 5G World MENA in Dubai. The ADVA Ensemble Connector was praised for its real-world value. Unlike other fledgling technologies, ADVA Optical Networking’s network functions virtualization (NFV) solutions have already been deployed in a number of communication service provider (CSP) networks. The ADVA Ensemble Connector is the industry’s only pure-play NFV hosting platform. As a truly open virtualization solution, it enables CSPs to avoid vendor lock-in and gives them the freedom to deploy best-in-class software for virtual network functions (VNFs).
This award validates the team’s hard work and confirms that our open, pure-play NFV strategy is resonating with the industry.

“We’re delighted that our Ensemble Connector is 5G World MENA’s NFV Innovation of the Year. It’s great news for everyone in our virtualization solutions division. This award validates the team’s hard work and confirms that our open, pure-play NFV strategy is resonating with the industry,” said Prayson Pate, CTO, Ensemble Division, ADVA Optical Networking. “What sets us apart is our real experience with helping CSPs to simply and efficiently virtualize service delivery for new revenue generation. As we start to innovate with pure software networking solutions, it’s exciting to see that a panel of independent analysts recognizes the powerful network transformation that comes with deploying our NFV technology."

The ADVA Ensemble Connector ensures CSPs are no longer tied to a specific vendor. The technology runs on any 1 or 10 Gigabit Ethernet Intel x86-based commercial off-the-shelf platform and, with many deployment options, offers an unprecedented level of control. The ADVA Ensemble Connector provides CSPs the opportunity to leverage virtualization, automation and orchestration as tools to create, activate and assure dynamic new services. It provides a low-risk NFV platform that delivers multi-Gbit/s performance on low-cost server platforms, while providing low-latency zero-packet-loss data paths. What’s more, CSPs can determine whether to place the ADVA Ensemble Connector at customer premises, metro edge, in central offices or cloud data centers.

“Our Ensemble Connector has won a lot of acclaim recently but this latest award is certainly very special. 5G MENA’s impartial industry analysts have highlighted the extraordinary progress we’ve made with our successful NFV deployments in live CSP networks,” commented Stephan Rettenberger, VP, marketing and investor relations, ADVA Optical Networking. “This award recognizes ADVA Optical Networking’s proven ability to transform the way carrier-class services are delivered across existing physical and new virtual network systems. With CSPs already using our Ensemble Connector to instantly provision new services, we’re showing the world that our technology delivers the promise of NFV right now.”
