The following scripts are provided for individuals who are concerned for the future of their communities. While some of the material is focused on a specific community, Cleveland Heights Ohio, hopefully the reader can see the outline of a basic approach toward education on sprawl and sustainability that can be used in their town.
Ohio is most fortunate to have basic research material provided by entities of the Ohio Urban University Program. This material provides core arguments used in these presentations. The entity sited here is the Housing Policy Research Program at the Urban Center of Cleveland State University.
Each program touches on the theme of suburban sprawl is at your expense by showing something that directly interests the members of individual audiences. This is wrapped in a vision of an ideal manner of living. Each presentation ends with the same prescription: the answers lay in the hands of state government.
As can be seen, only a portion of available material is presently posted on this site. Hopefully in due course, more material will be posted here.
Each of these scripts and their subsidiary scripts provide more material than can fill a 20-minute presentation. A presenter would pick and choose from the material provided to produce a presentation. The material not presented is background information that is useful to know during question and answer periods with audiences.
